Children's Participation and Rights Strategy
This strategy was created with young people who have experience of the Children's Hearings System. They helped us decide what is important and what needs to change.
Together, the young people chose four important things that CHS should always do:
Respect
We listen to children and young people and treat them with kindness and understanding.
Inclusion
We make sure everyone has a chance to be involved and have their voice heard.
Empowerment
We help children and young people understand their rights and feel confident speaking up.
Accountability
We take responsibility for our actions and work to make things better when needed.
These principles will help guide the work we do and make sure young people continue to help shape and improve CHS in the future.
Who helped create the strategy?
Young people from different groups shared their experiences and ideas, including:
The previous CHS Participation Group
Our Hearings, Our Voice (OHOV)
