Ahead of the incorporation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) into Scots law, CHS are working to uphold, promote, respect and raise awareness about the rights of children and young people in contact with the children's hearing system.

Our focus is about making sure that CHS are fully compliant with children’s rights as they are set out in the convention. We’re working on providing new tools for staff and volunteers to develop their skills and knowledge to best respect children’s rights. The first phase of this work will continue until March 2023, at which point we will assess our progress and refresh its priorities.
