We’re looking for a new Board Chair at Children’s Hearings Scotland

Scottish Ministers are looking to appoint a new Chair to join the Children's Hearings Scotland (CHS) Board, as the current Chair Garry Coutts steps down having completed the full available term of office, serving his public appointment for eight years.

As Chair you will lead the Board, working with the National Convener/Chief Executive and the staff team to ensure that the organisation contributes effectively to the redesign of the hearings system, keeping The Promise to Scotland’s children and young people.

The CHS Board values diversity of thought, and applications would be particularly welcome from groups currently under-represented on Scotland’s public bodies such as women, ethnic minorities, disabled people, as well as people aged under 50. Applications are also particularly welcome from those who have a personal experience of the children’s hearings system.
