Hearing System Working Group holds first meeting

On Monday 6th September the Hearing System Working Group met for the first time. A partnership between our organisation, the Scottish Children’s Reporter Administration and The Promise Scotland, this group will facilitate a redesign of Children’s Hearings System with the needs of children, young people and families with lived experience at its heart.

This initial meeting, led by independent Chair, David Mackie, explored the scope of the group and key areas of focus.

Children’s Hearings Scotland’s representatives on the group, Beth-Anne Logan, Board member, and Carol Wassell, Head of Area Support and Community Improvement, were in attendance.

Carol said, “It's a time of change in how services are delivered and experienced. The group will drive positive change at the required pace to #KeepThePromise. The group are agreeing how it will work with people with lived experience of the children’s hearing system and partners in this vital work.”

At Children’s Hearings Scotland, we are also scoping an internal consultation and engagement programme to ensure that the CHS community (made up of Panel and Area Support Team members and the National Team), can input and bring expertise that supports and drives change as we go forward.
