New service to support volunteer wellbeing

The new volunteer wellbeing support service, boosts the support the organisation already offers, such as the buddy system for new trainees.

The service provider, Health Assured, will manage a package of support including a 24 hour advice line, counselling sessions and an online health portal where volunteers can find several tools designed to enhance physical and emotional wellbeing.

National Convener, Elliot Jackson, says: “CHS takes is responsibilities for Panel Member well-being seriously; our volunteers are carrying out complex and sensitive roles which require can take up considerable mental energy. While supporting local children and families through the Children’s Panel is often fulfilling, it can also be overwhelming or challenging at times.

“That’s why it’s important for CHS to continue to invest and adopt a proactive approach to wellbeing and ensure we support the our volunteers as much as possible.”
