Children’s Hearings Scotland Welcomes A New Volunteer!

Elliot Jackson, recently appointed as National Convener and Chief Executive, is delighted to announce the appointment of a new volunteer Area Convener. This volunteer is taking up the role of Area Convener in West Dunbartonshire. Area Conveners lead their local Area Support Teams, which provide support and guidance to volunteers on a local level.

Judy Wilson, currently a volunteer Panel Member, will take up her appointment on 12 October in West Dunbartonshire. Judy has recently retired from more than 30 years with Police Scotland, where she reached the rank of Chief Inspector.  Throughout Judy’s career, she has been involved in child protection committees and has chaired multi-agency meetings, which will be of great value in her role as Area Convener. Judy has also engaged in a number of voluntary roles throughout her life from Parent Teacher Association, to guide leader and Duke of Edinburgh Award Assessor.

Elliot Jackson, National Convener and Chief Executive of Children’s Hearings Scotland said:  “The role of Area Convener requires strong leadership, working with partners at a strategic level while supporting our volunteer Panel Members whose aim is to improve the outcomes of infants, children and young people. We are delighted to welcome Judy to this vital role within the local community of West Dunbartonshire.”
