What are my rights at the hearing?

You have the right to:

  • bring someone to the hearing to help you
  • ask questions at your hearing
  • ask to speak to the panel members at your hearing on your own
  • ask to stop the hearing for a little while if you need a break 
  • tell people at the hearing if you are not happy with what is happening to you, or if you don’t agree with what is being said
  • appeal against the decision of the hearing to a Sheriff within 21 days
  • complain if you are not happy with how you have been treated

Your rights are protected under law which means no one can take your rights away from you.
