Children’s Hearings Scotland appoints Area Support and Improvement Partners 28 June 2019We are delighted to announce the appointment of eight new Area Support and Improvement Partners who will be based regionally across Scotland. As part of the Children’s Hearings Scotland (CHS) National Team and in conjunction with our existing National Team Leads. These new roles will work in partnership with our volunteer Area Support Teams, Panel Members and local partner organisations to deliver consistent, sustainable and high quality children’s hearings, by ensuring that the necessary support is in place to enable the highest quality of decision-making, and experience for children and young people attending children’s hearings. Following a rigorous and volunteer led recruitment process, we have appointed: Ayrshire – Donna Martin Joining us on 24th June, Donna was previously Advocacy and Participation Manager with Who Cares? Scotland. She has also previously held the role of Depute Area Convener with our Ayrshire Area Support Team. Central – Tracey Sharp and Hazel Oliver (job share) Tracey and Hazel join the team on 24th June. Tracey was Regional Project Manager with NHS Forth Valley and, until her appointment, a serving Panel Member in the Central and West Lothian area. Hazel Oliver was previously our Clerk working with Falkirk Council and the Central and West Lothian Area Support Team. Glasgow – Jeanne Martin Jeanne joins our team on 29th July. She is currently a Partnership Manager with LGBT Youth Scotland and is a Panel Member in Glasgow. Grampian – Angela Allan Joining us on 24th June, Angela was previously Senior Community Learning and Development Officer at Aberdeenshire Council and a Panel Practice Advisor in Grampian. Highlands and Islands - Vicky Strange Vicky joins the team on 29th August. She is currently the Head of Development at Scottish Cycling. Lanarkshire and Dumfries & Galloway – Samina Ansari Joining us on 24th June, Samina previously held the position of CEO of The Muslim Women's Resource Centre. North Strathclyde – Ken McKinlay and Angela Cramb (Job Share) Both Ken and Angela will join the team on 24th June. Ken was previously an Area Convener with Children’s Hearings Scotland for East Renfrewshire. Angela brings with her experience as a Business Improvement Specialist and was previously Depute Area Convener and a Panel Practice Advisor in East Dunbartonshire. South East - Anne Gerry Anne will join us in August. She is currently a Locality Reporter Manager with the Scottish Children’s Report Administration. A ninth Area Support and Improvement Partner to cover the Fife and Tayside area has been appointed and details will be shared once the appointment process has been completed.
