Applying your expert professional knowledge, you will play an integral part in supporting fair and child centred children’s hearings. You will provide accurate advice and prepare briefings and guidance on the law and good hearings practice for our volunteer panel members.
Our PPAs play a vital role in the Children’s Hearings System, observing Panel Member practice and providing feedback and advice to help develop knowledge and skills.

During Care Experienced Week, our Renfrewshire Area Support Team (AST) held a training and Year of Young People event for 8 AST members and over 40 local Panel Members.
The Scottish Children's Reporter Administration (SCRA) had recently revamped it's ‘Your Rights’ flyer which is aimed at children and young people.
Last month, the Tayside Area Support Team held a training event which was attended by around 60 Panel and Area Support Team members.
The CHS community is getting behind the movement with pledges of support from our National Convener Boyd McAdam, and Deputy Chief Executive Elliot Jackson.
We welcome the report’s conclusions that the youth justice system should respond to young people and their families in a way that maximises children’s inclusion even where their behaviours are challenging and harmful to others.
