CHS is looking for a Practice Development Assistant (salaried position) 09 October 2018Children’s Hearings Scotland aims to improve the lives, outcomes and opportunities of Scotland's most vulnerable children and young people by delivering child centred children’s hearings which make sound decisions about vulnerable children and young through our 3,000 volunteer Children’s Panel members and their Area Support Teams. As a confident self-starter you will inform and develop improvement initiatives and work with key stakeholders, such as the Scottish Children’s Reporter Administration, and national and local government on various national practice improvements and programmes. You will have sound knowledge of Scottish policy, law and practice on planning and decision-making for children, including an understanding of the children’s hearings system, child protection and youth justice, and GIRFEC principles. Playing an integral and trusted part in the successful operation of the hearings system as part of a practice team, you will be responsible for providing sound practice advice and guidance. You will be required to travel across Scotland and work on occasion outside CHS’ normal working hours to meet the requirements of the job.
