The successful candidate will be an experienced and inspirational leader with a passion for improving the lives of children and young people in Scotland and someone with a strong track record of delivering first class results. The National Convener/Chief Executive will build effective strategic and working relationships across CHS, its community and with partners including Scottish Government, local authorities, social work services, SCRA and other agencies. CHS is a proud corporate parent and the National Convener will actively seek the participation of children and young people who have experience of the hearings system in the continuous improvement of the Children’s Hearings System. This is a 5 year appointment with the opportunity to be reappointed beyond 5 years. The National Office is based in Edinburgh where you will work as part of an experienced and supportive team. The postholder will be required to travel across Scotland and work on a regular basis outside CHS’ normal working hours to meet the requirements of the job.
