Children’s Hearings Scotland exists to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people in Scotland by recruiting, training and supporting 3,000 volunteer Panel and Area Support Team members. We need an exceptional and savvy communications and engagement professional to proclaim loudly about our work and what a valuable contribution our volunteers make to the lives of children and young people. You will be social media and digitally smart, campaign ready with an innovative and creative approach to media channelling. Communications needs to be the beating heart of CHS and by joining our dynamic and highly skilled national team you will lead the Communications Team in the provision of excellent communication advice and know-how. You will lead on the implementation of our ambitious and exciting communications strategy and you will help shape and manage our core messaging. You will be a highly motivated and tenacious self-starter, strategic in your approach and able to work independently and confidently to develop CHS’ growing profile and credibility. You will also thrive on working collaboratively with colleagues and external partners on campaigns and other strategic projects. You will develop and promote the effective participation and engagement of children and young people in the Children’s Hearings System. It’s a system for them, so experience of co-design and collaboration with partners would be ideal. Having a relevant degree or equivalent in communications, media, marketing or related subject you will demonstrate that you’ve got the appetite to develop your own professional development as well as promoting our collective ambitions for change.
